71. Set reasonable fridge and freezer temperatures.

We demand a lot from food. We ask food to nourish, be flavorful, and not make our bellies wail or purge. It seems only fair to find temperature fellowships for our food in our freezer and fridge that are reasonable, so let’s call it being… freasonable.

Freasonably - setting Fridge and Freezer temperatures reasonably.

Think of living freasonably as the longevity setting for your food (and your healthspan). Because living freasonably is about treating your food so well, it’s actually one instance where you want to spoil your food.

Plus happy food = happy mood, dude.

To help you live freasonably, here’s a simple 2-step process:

  1. Set your fridge & freezer not too hot
  2. Set your fridge & freezer not too cold

Your Future You likes you living ‘just right.’ Even though your Future You feels super-demanding, your Future You also has the longevity perspective to take all of this less-than freasonably seriously. It’s seen the highs and lows… and knows, choosing a freasonable setting is how Future You grows.

P.S. - It’s been reported that Corporate Housing Companies help ‘‘Set reasonable fridge and freezer temperatures’ by providing our guests with comfortable, personalized furnished flats. This moves beyond finding the finest freasonable temperature in your kitchen and flows into choosing a furnished monthly rental that feels ‘just right.’  Freasonable living is akin to eating porridge that makes momma bear, poppa bear, baby bear, and their blond friend/invader, feel just right.

P.P.S. - Why are there no porridge restaurants?

71. Set reasonable fridge and freezer temperatures.

The United States Department of Energy recommends around 35 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit for the fresh food compartment and 0 degrees for freezers.(And unplug that old fridge in the garage when you don't need it to chill anything.)
