57. Adjust the thermostat

"Don't 'Touch' that Dial!" - Bob Barker (1924-2023)

"Adjust it!" - Future you (2023-future)

The phrase 'get comfortable being uncomfortable' could apply to 'adjust the thermostat.' Try a temp that is just outside your comfort zone - somewhere between a Swedish Sauna and a Wim Hoff ice bath.

Or

‘Get comfortable being uncomfortable’ could apply to ‘Adjust the thermostat’ once the friction becomes palpable between you and your roommate/partner/co-worker when both parties realize the subterfuge campaign to ‘Adjust the thermostat’ just got real.

To help you get comfortable being uncomfortable via 'Adjust the thermostat,' here’s a simple 2-step process:

1) Take your temp

2) Channel your inner (and expansive) Goldilocks

Your Future You wants you to adjust your attitude toward ‘Adjusting the thermostat’ because being a little uncomfortable and dealing with a little friction is what leads to growth and sometimes, (wait for it) happiness? Your Future You feels you should ‘come on down’ on the thermostat temp during the winter as a small price to pay to avoid a showcase showdown with your fellow temperature-battling cohabitant.

P.S. - It’s been reported that Corporate Housing companies are happy to help you ‘Adjust the thermostat.’ Yes, all utilities ARE included in our 30-day rentals, and you get to control your level of comfort around air conditioning and heat. When one factors in the convenience of furnished rentals, with the flexibility of monthly terms, golly, the price IS right. Get comfortable getting comfortable… again!. Enjoy!

57. Adjust the thermostat. Lower it in winter; increase it in summer. Most smart thermostats are programmable nowadays so you can set them on a timer and program them to shut off when they reach the desired temperature.
