58. Compost other organic matter—not just food.

On Halloween, ‘Compost other organic matter - not just -BOO!!! *[jump scare]* food,’ sounds sorta creepy. Maybe it’s the referencing of ‘other organic matter,’ especially in late October, that gives us these heebe-jeebees.

During this season of boo-stuff, let’s consider composting other ‘NON-food’ organic matter such as:

-pumpkins

-red-colored Skittles

-people/humans? (sorry zombies- brains ≠ food) - https://recompose.life

To help you ‘Compost other organic matter - not just food’, here’s a simple 2-step process:

1. Gather up your ‘other organic matter-not just food’

2. Double-check that your Will includes how you want to be composted… uh, we mean, buried…

Your ‘Future You’ wants you to dress up as your ‘Future You’ this Halloween. Setting aside your Future You’s ego, your ‘Future You Costume’ will show your current friends and current family who you are going to be in X years. Composting other organic matter- not just food, will help create the Future You Costume you can longingly look forward to while also creating the Future You that zombies (who crave red-Skittled brains) will want to avoid.

P.S. - It’s been reported that Corporate Housing companies are caretakers in helping ‘Compost other organic matter - not just food’, because places that promote composting, will welcome almost any type of organic matter. But to be safe, just ask your compost-friendly Corporate Housing provider first. Since our stays are for 3-4 months on average, composting ‘for all eternity’ may require a different ‘notice to extend’ variation.

Why does this ‘Future You’ Series exist? What’s it about? Promote easy, quirky sustainable practices that are NOT preachy, or guilt-ridden and without a focus on the ‘saving the planet’ (hint: the planet is going to survive no matter what we do). A playful post of simple ways to sorta improve our lives, and the lives of those we love. Also improve our future lives… by taking playful action today. Still reading? Cool. We think you’re amazing and full of joyful zest.
