54. Don't forget your reusable bags.

Reusable bags should be part of everyone's daily checklist before you leave your house:

- wallet, keys, phone, reusable bags

However, a better way to 'Don't forget your reusable bag' is to keep them on your person, maybe make them part of your wardrobe. Fortunately, the folks in Japan are one step ahead and have already created the reusable bag/jacket.

How could this get any better?  How about making a reusable bag/jacket out of bionic threads to upcycle it…whoa, wait - we just Upcycled episode #53!

To help you 'Don't forget your reusable bags' here’s a simple 2-step process:

  1. Buy a reusable bag/jacket
  2. Wear your reusable bag/jacket every day… yup.  It’s just part of your fashion now.

Your Future You is pretty much reliant on you not just living a long life, but a joyous and fruitful life, too. Now, your Future You is a bit concerned about finding and keeping friends if you wear a reusable bag/jacket every day, (not to mention connecting on a date). To keep your Future You fulfilled (with and without reusable bags), we think the visual of you wearing the reusable bag/jacket is the best helpful reminder/incentive to ''Don't forget your reusable bag'.

P.S. - It’s been reported that Corporate Housing companies also help you to 'Don't forget your reusable bag' by providing fun reusable bags in these furnished properties. And if you do decide to proudly flaunt a reusable bag/jacket, you will save money on airline baggage fees… when you visit Japan.

Why does this ‘Future You’ Series exist? What’s it about?

  1. Promote easy, quirky sustainable practices that are NOT preachy, or guilt-ridden and without a focus on the ‘saving the planet’ (hint: the planet is going to survive no matter what we do).

  2. A playful post of simple ways to sorta improve our lives, and the lives of those we love. And improve our future lives… by doing stuff today.

  3. Still reading? Cool. We think you’re amazing and full of joyful zest.

This series is based off ‘105 Simple Sustainable actions’ - from Stephane Omsanski’s article in Parade from 2021.
