82. Opt for refillable packaging.

 

Luggage is a refillable package

Bellies are a refillable package

Hotels are a refillable package

 

Therefore the true message for episode 82 could be ‘Opt to travel, enjoy a shared meal with shared laughter while staying in a hotel (or a furnished apt) for 30-days or more? (we added this last part). This is as an easy and playful way to make refillable ‘re-thrillable’ (eye-roll emoji). 

 

To help you ‘Opt for refillable packaging’, here’s a simple 2-step process:

  1. Think refillable
  2. Travel, refilla-bly

Your Future You is an amalgamation of embodied refillable experiences.  In order to keep your embodied ‘packaging’ reflliable and re-usable, keep opting for travel and filling it with joyful memories, blissful connections and replenishable victuals to masticate.  Conversely, opt less for refillable Big Gulps and refillable endless breadsticks from Olive Garden, refillable endless tax forms.

 

P.S. - It’s been reported that Corporate Housing Companies help ‘Opt for refillable packaging’ by offering refillable apartments with re-usable furniture and housewares. It’s probably a good thing we don’t provide single use sofas.  

 

Why does this ‘Future You’ Series exist? What’s it about?  

  1. Promote easy, quirky sustainable practices that are NOT preachy, or guilt-ridden and without a focus on the ‘saving the planet’ (hint: the planet is going to survive no matter what we do). 

  2. A playful post of simple ways to sorta improve our lives, and the lives of those we love. Also improve our future lives… by taking playful action today.

Many sustainable brands offer refillable packaging, meaning that instead of discarding the original packaging and buying a new one, you can simply refill the original.
